Gateway East Garage

What started out as a fun day watching the Harlem Globetrotters was quickly soured by the rudest, most aggressive parking staff member directing traffic into the garage today. I was going very slowly (traffic had already been at a standstill). Family, including my young nephew, visiting from Australia witnessed first hand this man slamming his hand on the hood of my car and yelling at me that he'd told me to stop. He told me that I almost hit a male pedestrian, who wasn't even near the parking garage entrance yet! The staffer claimed that I wasn't paying attention to his signals or to what I was doing. I angrily responded that he didn't need to be so rude and to not touch my car again. He had the nerve to angrily say, "I don't think I'm being rude," and demonstrated that he'd signaled (below my line of sight) to stop. Maybe he should've gestured in a more obvious way. In any case, I was driving cautiously and hadn't been close to hitting any pedestrians. What a way for this man to behave in front of families and children, especially to those visiting our "fair city." My previous experience parking here was really positive, so what a disappointment.

I have never seen such a rude staff! I get there right at 6AM sharp most days and have to wait for the self righteous guard to open the gate. I am no longer paying for a monthly pass (another long story) so I cannot use the other entrance to enter earlier. This guy not only waits until it is after 6AM to drag his feet over to open the gate, he purposely parks his beat up vehicle in front of the gate - on an angle! - to make it difficult to enter until he finally moves the piece of junk. Since I'm usually the first one to enter I park in the same spot. Today, there is conveniently a trash bin and broom in that spot. The unprofessional and childish behavior is unacceptable! The woman who is there to collect $15 for 1PM baseball games is even more pathetic. I would assume she is at least a manager, but behaves far from that. The very first time I experienced this, I was pulling in and she chased after me and frantically yelled that I owe $15. I was literally going 20 feet before I had to get a ticket. There was no need for the ridiculous drama. I backed out and left. This week was another game. I was unaware, but they took extra long opening the gate and then started dragging out the $15 sign. When I saw that I decided to park elsewhere and was leaving she started laughing. Was it that funny? I have tolerated the place because it is basically inexpensive, well lit, and has decent size parking spaces. I will pay extra to not have to deal with those idiots again! So disgusted!
